Harbor Biosciences' (Nasdaq: HRBR) 45% HIGHER; apoptone(R) for prostate cancer shows partial overall response in an ongoing Phase I/IIA clinical trial. According to the most recent results, one patient in the 350 mg group confirmed a partial overall response to the disease, however, the median time to progression was not reached. For the 100 mg cohort however, the TTP was 24 weeks.
C&D Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: CHP) 10% HIGHER; reports Q2 adjusted loss of $0.19, cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.06). Revenue for the quarter was $83.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $91.0 million. Also announced that they have entered into a restructuring support agreement with two noteholders who hold approximately 56% of the aggregate principal amount of the company's outstanding 5.25% convertible senior notes due 2025 and 5.50% convertible senior notes due 2026.

The company said its quarterly results will be hurt by Mesabi nugget of about 4c/share, a 2c/share tax adjustment and a charge on its railroad operations totaling about 1c/share. The company also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.075 per common share.
