Cytokinetics, Incorporated (Nasdaq: CYTK) 2.9% HIGHER; has successfully completed its Phase IIa "Evidence of Effect" clinical trial of CK-2017357, a fast skeletal muscle activator, in patients with claudication associated with peripheral artery disease.

CVR Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CVI) 1.8% HIGHER; In a 13G filing after the close, Tepper's hedge fund disclsoed an 8.26% stake in the company, or 7,141,434 shares. The firm had a 1.8% stake.

Cooper Cos. (NYSE: COO) 1.2% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $1.02, $0.09 better than the analyst estimate of $0.93. Revenue for the quarter came in at $325.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $314.7 million. Cooper Cos. sees FY2011 EPS of $4.00-$4.15, versus prior guidance of $3.70-$3.90 and the consensus of $3.93. Cooper Cos. sees FY2011 revenue of $1.28-$1.30 billion, versus prior guidance of $1.265-$1.290 billion and the consensus of $1.28 billion.
