After-Hours Movers 04/04: (APP) (BBBY) (BAS) Higher; (GALE) (RT) (CKEC) (HEAT) Lower

American Apparel, Inc. (AMEX: APP) 28% HIGHER; reported March sales surged 15 percent to $49 million. Same-store sales were up 21 percent.

Galena Biopharma (Nasdaq: GALE) 12% LOWER; intends to offer shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. Roth Capital Partners, LLC is acting as the sole book-running manager for the offering.

Ruby Tuesday, Inc. (NYSE: RT) 10% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.18, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.15. Revenue for the quarter came in at $324.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $336.61 million. Comps down 5%. Ruby Tuesday, Inc. sees FY2012 EPS of $0.43-$0.48, versus prior guidance of $0.55-$0.65 and the consensus of $0.56.

Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (Nasdaq: CKEC) 7.4% LOWER; has commenced an underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 shares of its common stock. In addition, Carmike expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 600,000 shares of common stock

SmartHeat Inc. (Nasdaq: HEAT) 6% LOWER; just before the close, announced that while it ordinarily does not comment on market activity or market rumors, in view of the recent unusual market activity in its stock, SmartHeat confirms that it is not aware of any material corporate developments that could account for the unusual trading activity.

Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBY) 5% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $1.48, $0.16 better than the analyst estimate of $1.32. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.73 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.66 billion. Sees Q1 2012 EPS of $0.79-$0.83, versus the consensus of $0.82. Sees FY12 EPS up by high single digit to low double digit percent. The Street is currently expecting FY12 EPS of $4.47.

Basic Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: BAS) 5% HIGHER; filed a registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to sell, from time to time, up to $1 billion of Common Stock, Preferred Stock, Senior Debt, Subordinated Debt, Warrants, Units, Guarantees, or any combination thereof.

Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK) 3.8% HIGHER; will replace NSTAR (NYSE: NST) in the S&P MidCap 400 index after the close of trading on Monday, April 9.

Sprint (NYSE: S) 1% HIGHER; may be moving on a release HTC will begin selling its Evo 4G LTE exclusively through Sprint. Also after the bell today, Philip Falcone said he may opt for voluntary bankruptcy for LightSquared.
