On September 6, 2016, Galena Biopharma, Inc.’s Board of Directors approved, upon recommendation from an independent compensation consultant engaged by the Compensation Committee, the following revision to the non-employee director compensation policy. Effective January 1, 2017, thirty-three percent (33%) of the annual cash retainers for the directors’ board and committee positions will be paid in unrestricted shares of the Company’s common stock on the first trading day of each quarter. Such shares will be subject to the directors’ stock ownership and retention guideline of three times the current annual cash retainer
