September 14, 2012 10:12 AM EDT Send to a Friend
InterOil Corporation (NYSE: IOC) is surging higher, apparently on a short squeeze, spurred by reports from overseas that at least two supermajors have made bids for an operating stake of the Gulf LNG project in Papua New Guinea.

Shares are off the highs of the session, but still up 10.8 percent. Volume is already above the 3-month daily norm.
