Google (GOOG) May Delay Tablet Launch to Work Out Kinks

Reports out over the weekend suggest Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) pushed back the release of its first tablet device from May to July. TheVerge reported Google will take a little more time to tweak the device.
The speculation is Google is holding off in order to install the next version of its Android operating system, though a spokesperson for the search giant said the claim is untrue.
In addition, Google might want to front-run the release of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) smaller version of it's iPad tablet later in 2012.
Of primary concern to Google right now is getting the price of its tablet device lower. The device is said to be priced at $249, which would compare unfavorably with Amazon's (Nasdaq: AMZN) Kindle Fire (priced at $199).
Google's first tablet is being made by Asustek, has a 7-inch screen, NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA) Tegra 3 quad-processor, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
