The Globes Online reported that Gilat Satellite (Nasdaq: GILT) is in acquisition talks with Alvarion (Nasdaq: ALVR) rival, WiMAX equipment maker Airspan Networks (OTCBB: AIRN).
The talks are reported to be in the very early stages, with no guarantee that they will lead to a deal.
Airspan is considered a competitor to Alvarion Ltd. More than a year ago, Gilat looked at signing an OEM agreement with Airspan.
It is estimated that the deal could be in the several million dollars range.
