German Economy Minister says EU should work on new Stability and Growth Pact

BERLIN (Reuters) - German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Wednesday that the European Union needed to work on a new Stability and Growth Pact because the existing one placed too much emphasis on stability and not enough on growth.
Brussels should also reward member countries for carrying out reforms, Gabriel added.
