UBS on Specialty Retail: Q2 Preview - 'The Haves and Have Nots'

Analyst, Roxanne Meyer, said, "Key themes in 2Q: 1. the consumer is showing up where product is strong/value is right 2. 1Q winners stayed on top, 1Q laggards continue to struggle, and 3. mall traffic was soft, off-price traffic strong. Thus far in EPS season, stocks are being rewarded for EPS beats (better topline, margins) + raising 2H. As we look to 2H EPS, we see upside potential at TJX Cos (NYSE: TJX), Ross Stores (Nasdaq: ROST), Ann Inc (NYSE: ANN), Gap (NYSE: GPS), Limited (NYSE: LTD) and American Eagle (NYSE: AEO) with greatest potential for downside at Aeropostale (NYSE: ARO), Express (Nasdaq: EXPR), and Lululemon (Nasdaq: LULU), where we’re lowering estimates, and at Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF)."
