U.S. Defense Secretary Hagel Said to Step Down Amid Pressure
(Updated - November 24, 2014 9:30 AM EST)
U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is said to be stepping down
UPDATE - The New York Times said the move comes amid pressure that the Obama administration isn't staying ahead of global crisis developments.
President Obama will make the announcement on Monday.
Hagel -- a Republican with military experience -- was brought in to manage the conflict withdrawal from the Afghanistan conflict.
Recent events, such as the impact of ISIS, tensions between Ukraine and Russia, and the recent Ebola crisis, were determined not to fit in with Hagel's skill set.
The decision comes following two weeks of talks between Obama and Hagel.
