JetBlue Airways (JBLU) Reports Increase in April Traffic

JetBlue Airways Corporation (Nasdaq: JBLU) reported that its traffic in April increased 0.8% from April 2007, on a capacity increase of 7.4%.

Load factor for April 2008 was 79.5%, a decrease of 5.2 points from April 2007. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 99.3% and its on-time(1) performance was 77.1%. JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of April increased three percent year over year.

"Our year-over-year revenue performance in April, which was impacted by the shift of the Easter holiday to March, was in line with our expectations," said Dave Barger, JetBlue's CEO. "We continue to see solid booking strength into the summer."
