Chain-Store Sales Fell 1.2% in June, Narrower than Expected - Redbook (XRT)
National chain-store sales fell 1.2 percent in June from May, a drop that came in narrower versus expectations of a 1.3 percent decline.
The Johnson Redbook Sales Index rose 3.8 percent over the prior year on a seasonally-adjusted basis, flat with expectations.
Aiding the rise included items like Independence Day sales and increased demand for seasonal goods, Redbook noted.
