Staples (SPLS) Ramps On PE Takeover Speculation

Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) is jumping higher into the close following a Fortune article suggesting several private equity firms are considering buying of the company, including Bain Capital which helped get the company off the ground.

The report said that talks have been preliminary, with no offer seen until at least later this year.

Shares are up 3.7 percent.
