nCircle Supports Critical Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defense: Consensus Audit Guidelines

November 11, 2009 8:07 AM EST

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- nCircle, the leader in security and compliance auditing solutions, today announced support for the Consensus Audit Guidelines. The 20 Critical Security Controls outlined in the Consensus Audit Guidelines have been identified by leading government agency CIOs and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) including managers from key Federal agencies and private computer forensics experts. These 20 critical security controls allow those responsible for compliance and those responsible for security to agree, for the first time, on the specific steps that need to be taken to make systems safer. Of the 15 Critical Security Controls that can be monitored automatically, nCircle solutions can fully or partially automate 13 of the 15.

nCircle customer Bill Geimer, President of Iron Vine Security and Leader of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Computer Information Security Team will be presenting at The National Summit on Planning and Implementing the 20 Critical Security Controls on Friday Nov 13 in Session 6: Choosing the Right Tools for Automating and Measuring the Critical Controls, Vulnerability Testing, Configuration Management and Inventory Tools.
