Wolflink Technology to Release Portable Data Library with Unlimited Cloud Storage Space

June 29, 2015 7:00 AM EDT

BEIJING, June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Wolflink Technology, creator of the Smaug gaming router, the first router equipped with a multi-channel technology that increases download speeds up to 4x for Playstation players, will launch its latest product Wolflink NUTS in October this year.

Far more than a traditional home router, Wolflink NUTS is a new download/upload solution that supports an external hard disk and is also a private home cloud with free storage space. Whenever a user creates a file, it will automatically be saved on the hard drive hooked up to NUTS meaning all files are easily available from any device whenver the user is connected to the internet.

As founder Tan Wang says; "NUTS is like a portable data library. Users do not even need to have their files stored locally to be able to open them as they can be directly streamed and whenever they watch a movie or listen to music, they don't even have to wait for it to load. Photos are available in only a second and the external hard disk gives users unlimited storage space."

Comprised of members of Fortune 500 enterprises Huawei, PCCW, Nokia and Samsung, Wolflink Technology recently received a $10 million angel investment from the Elex Group and in addition to hardware also focuses on providing optimized home network optimize solutions.

One of the most important features of the Internet is its ability to share virtual resources. People share on the Internet by uploading data and obtain data from others by downloading, and these processes have become a part of daily life. We can store all of our important files to a cloud storage space to prevent losing them and download anything we want.

Many companies are already working on improving user experience when it comes to down and uploading, for instance with P2P, the download speed is faster than before and the cloud technique enables people to access their files at all times. However, the problem is all of these options are still not good enough.

Users need a computer in order to download files, so time is wasted if one is not readily available, while due to server limitations, P2P is not allowed in many places. PlayStation 4 users for example have to download from PSN using a single channel thread. In addition, although the cloud is a great invention, 1TB of storage costs almost $120 per year.

Remote BitTorrent, a downloading software allows people to download files from any torrent website, is another area that Wolflink Team is working on. The download will be committed by the router rather than the computer and users will be able to manage the download with an app. The coolest thing is, once the download is finished, the user can directly check the file, watch the video or see the picture on the phone or tablet device.

"We applied eight useful functions into one router, for example PSN download, accelerate, NAS remote downloading and advertisement blocking. Some people may think that's the end. But no, we're just getting started," the NUTS developers commented.
