Western Independent Bankers Launch Apps Store

September 27, 2016 8:09 AM EDT

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (PRWEB) September 27, 2016

Western Independent Bankers (WIB), a trade association of community banks in thirteen Western states, announced today the launch of its new platform aimed at providing mobile financial technology (fintech) apps to banks. Linqto, a progressive California-based technology company specializing in apps for the financial services industry, powers the platform. The WIB Apps Store will house a variety of financial apps that banks can offer to their customers to increase their engagement.

"Providing this type of cutting edge technology to our industry is important in two ways," said WIB President/CEO Michael Delucchi. "All of our banks want to bring younger, more tech-friendly customers into the bank, as well as offer the latest mobile technology. By using the WIB Apps Store banks don't have to worry about an outdated delivery process from the vendor. The WIB Apps Store can revolutionize the way customers see their relationship between their bank and their mobile device."

Linqto will deliver the WIB Apps Store through its automated delivery platform. The Linqto Software Delivery Platform allows financial institutions to choose from a storefront, the latest fintech apps such as Score & Report or Wallaby. Within minutes the app is branded and available for internal bank testing. When finished with testing the app is automatically distributed to major app stores (Apple, Google, and Amazon). The WIB Apps Store will also offer a collection of non-fintech lifestyle apps that are gaining popularity with Millennials. The process is fully automated and offers a new opportunity for banks to compete.

"Western Independent Bankers has a recognizable name and large footprint with community banks," said Bill Sarris, CEO Linqto. "Via this strategic partnership with WIB and WIB Service Corporation, more than 800 community banks will have "storefront" access to the latest fintech apps. We can bring brand loyalty and market share to these banks through the Linqto Platform."
