Welltower Expands Finance and Investment Leadership Team

Shankh Mitra and Tim McHugh Named to Key Strategic Roles

TOLEDO, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Shankh Mitra and Tim McHugh have joined Welltower Inc. (NYSE: HCN) in key strategic roles reporting to Scott Estes, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Shankh Mitra has been named Senior Vice President, Finance and Investments. Tim McHugh has been named Vice President, Finance and Investments. In addition to supporting the organization’s finance and capital markets teams under the leadership of Scott Estes, they will work closely with Scott Brinker, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, and the Welltower investment team developing and executing the company’s investment strategy.

Shankh Mitra joins Welltower from Millennium Partners, a global institutional asset management company, where he served as Portfolio Manager, Real Estate Securities. In his role at Millennium, he managed an accomplished analyst team responsible for bottom-up underwriting of commercial real estate companies and portfolios, security selection, quantitative portfolio and risk management. Previously, Shankh served as an Analyst at Citadel Investment Group and Fidelity Investments’ Pyramis Global Advisors. A graduate of Jadavpur University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the Department of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering, he also holds an M.B.A. in Applied Value Investing from the Columbia University School of Business where he earned Dean’s List honors.

Tim McHugh joins Welltower from RREEF Management, L.L.C, the global alternative investment management business of Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management division. As a Senior Analyst focused on Healthcare, Office and Specialty Sectors, he was responsible for developing sector level underwriting methodologies, valuing individual securities and producing investment recommendations. He had previously served as an Equity Research Analyst at Northern Trust. A graduate of the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Finance and minor in Technology & Management, he is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
