Vice President Joe Biden to Be Honored at Milestone 75th Annual Father of The Year Awards in NYC

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The National Father’s Day Council today announced that it will honor the 47th Vice President Joe Biden, at the 75th Annual Father of The Year Awards. Vice President Biden will receive a “Father of The Year” award, along with fellow honoree Jerry Storch, CEO of Hudson’s Bay Company. The awards will be presented at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, with proceeds benefitting Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. Vice President Biden was elected at the age of 29 as a United States Senator to Delaware, becoming one of the youngest people ever elected to the U.S. Senate. As a Senator from Delaware for 36 years, the Vice President established himself as a leader in facing some of our nation’s most important domestic and international challenges. As Chairman or Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, then-Senator Biden was widely recognized for his work on criminal justice issues. As Chairman or Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, then-Senator Biden played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. foreign policy.

With decades of foreign policy experience in the United States Senate, include serving as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Vice President Biden advises President Obama on international issues.
