Valerie Nichols joins Smith & Howard Wealth Management as Director of Investments

Tim Agnew, Managing Director of Smith & Howard Wealth Management, a top Atlanta wealth management firm, announced the addition of Valerie Nichols as Director of Investments.

Valerie joins Smith & Howard Wealth Management after spending the past 19 years with SunTrust Bank, most recently as Senior Vice President and Investment Strategist in the Investment Advisory Group. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential. In her role at SunTrust, Valerie was responsible for over $700 million in assets under management for individual clients, trusts and foundations. She spent several years early in her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

On the addition of Valerie to the team, Managing Director Tim Agnew said, "Valerie's history and deep expertise in the investment and wealth management arena combined with her approach to client relationships and service make her a great fit for Smith & Howard Wealth Management. Valerie is an Atlanta native. She lives with her husband and two children in Atlanta, Georgia. Valerie majored in finance and graduated from Georgia State University with a BBA degree. She is a member of Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals and a former Equity and Alternatives Instructor for the CFA Review Course. Valerie is a volunteer tutor for refugee families at the All Saints Episcopal Refugee Ministry. She also enjoys hiking, running, playing soccer and basketball with her children and spending time with extended family in Atlanta.
