UPDATE: Judicial Stay in Terrorism Case

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/29/16 -- This document corrects and replaces the press release that was sent today at 13:44 ET.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia today stayed the proceedings against John Stuart Nuttall, 41, and Amanda Marie Korody, 33.

Last year, a jury found both guilty of conspiring to murder persons unknown, for the benefit of a terrorist group, contrary to s. 83.2 of the Criminal Code. They were also found guilty of making or having an explosive substance for the benefit of a terrorist group, contrary to s. 83.2.

The PPSC has filed a notice of appeal.

Consent has been given by the PPSC on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada to the laying of informations pursuant to s. 810.011(1) terrorism peace bonds.

The PPSC is also responsible for providing prosecution-related advice to law enforcement agencies across Canada.
