Minneapolis (PRWEB) September 28, 2016

Cyber security was a hot topic during the first presidential debate for good reason - it affects government, businesses and individuals, and it is a challenge that will be with us for the foreseeable future.

That challenge will be taken up in less than two weeks at the sixth annual Cyber Security Summit, which will be hosted this year on October 11-12 in Minneapolis. The event brings together leaders from Fortune 500 companies, major security firms, insurance, government and academia to discuss how to tackle today's cyber challenges.

Featured speakers include Suzanne Spaulding, Under Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) at the Department of Homeland Security; Lt. Gen. Ronald Burgess, former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency; Tony Sager of the Center for Internet Security; Tim Crothers of Target; and many more.

The event will also feature a half-day "capture-the-flag" Cyber Security Exercise from Symantec; a Small and Mid-Size Business Forum with specific advice for companies too small to employ a dedicated security team; Technical Talks that provide access to some of the top speakers at the event; an Investment Town Hall; and an Interactive Tabletop Exercise that simulates a real cyber attack.

The event will also feature invitation-only events including a CEO Breakfast and a Chief Information Security Officer Luncheon.

The event will include pre-event activities (including the Investment Town Hall and a VIP Reception) on October 10 and the main Summit will take place October 11-12 at the brand new JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America.
