U-Haul of the Mile High City Announces Plans for Self-Storage Expansion

DENVER, Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Denver residents have called on their local U-Haul store at 7540 York St. for do-it-yourself moving and self-storage for 40 years. U-Haul Moving & Storage of the Mile High City has been a staple of the community since 1976.

Until recently, it lacked the space to expand and offer additional self-storage options. Thanks to the recent acquisition of a 5.69-acre abutting property, U-Haul will be introducing over 700 new indoor climate-controlled units.

"We are excited to finally bring climate-controlled self-storage to this area," U-Haul Company of NW Colorado Mike Blau said. "It's a much-needed service that our customers demand. Our outdoor drive-up self-storage is at capacity, and we have been looking for ways to expand for the last three years. This is going to be huge for us and this community."

U-Haul has self-storage units of various sizes and price points to meet every customer's needs.

When renovations are completed, there will be five times as many self-storage units available for rent at the Mile High store. Blau also noted the additional space will roughly double the amount of self-storage among the six U-Haul-owned and -operated facilities in that region.

Covered RV, boat and vehicle storage spaces will be added as well.

Blau said the expansion will lead to several new jobs at the store. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth within the Denver community.
