U-Haul Meets Self-Storage Needs of Stillwater, OSU Students at Two New Locations
STILLWATER, Okla., Aug. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul is now serving self-storage customers and do-it-yourself movers at two former Cowboy Storage facilities located at 1000 W. Airport Road and 3802 N. Land Run Drive.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Boomer Lake (W. Airport Road) and U-Haul Storage of North Stillwater (N. Land Run Drive) opened in January and began offering truck and trailer rentals, moving supplies, climate-controlled indoor self-storage and more.
"These locations are on the north side of town, close to Oklahoma State University," U-Haul Company of Oklahoma City president Scott Brackin said. "We didn't have good market penetration in this area before these acquisitions, and we have already brought our occupancy levels up to more than 90 percent."
The North Stillwater location will soon be adding 45 covered RV, boat and vehicle storage spaces. Between the locations, customers have access to 438 self-storage units. When renovations are completed, U-Haul customers will also have access to propane at the Boomer Lake location.
Stop by U-Haul Moving & Storage of Boomer Lake and or call (405) 377-1111. Hours of operation are from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Reserve equipment at uhaul.com or contact Reservations at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.
U-Haul Storage of North Stillwater is being operated remotely by the Boomer Lake store and offers 24-hour accessibility for customer convenience.
"We have been looking for a location in this area for several years," Brackin said. "It's very exciting to find two locations that can serve Stillwater. Plus, we are saving tons of materials by reusing these facilities instead of building from the ground up."
The acquisition of the Stillwater facilities was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. Our adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
