U-Haul Company of Southeastern Wisconsin Closes Repair Shop in Milwaukee, Opens New Shop in Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, Wis., July 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The U-Haul repair shop at 5701 W. Good Hope Road is closing its doors July 22. It has been serving the Milwaukee and Wauwatosa communities since 1970. 

The need to better serve U-Haul customers at the level they expect and upgrade performance across all business lines prompted the closing of this U-Haul repair shop.  The facility will be renovated and converted into U-Haul self-storage.

To meet repair needs in Milwaukee County, U-Haul Company of Southeastern Wisconsin opened a new repair shop earlier this month at 11700 W. Capitol Drive.

Local U-Haul Companies are always exploring opportunities for growth but sometimes close or relocate facilities for reasons such as long-term strategic plans; physical plant limitations; shifts in demographics; trends in migration; expansion of the U-Haul neighborhood dealer network; and the proximity of other new or existing U-Haul stores.

The Capitol Drive location was once a Harley Davidson dealership. The initial property acquisition was driven by U-Haul Company's Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint.
