Women Recognized For Leveraging Technical Expertise to Make Positive Impact

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Siteworx, LLC, a leading digital agency, today announced that Savani Tatake, Technical Director and Allison Carnwath, Senior Software Developer were named “Powerful Women Programmers” by DCFemTech. DCFemTech is a coalition of women leaders amplifying women in tech organizations. The collective recognized 30 outstanding female engineers and programmers including Savani and Allison at an awards reception last night.

Savani and Allison were chosen among 79 submissions reviewed by a committee of a dozen women engineers, designers and executives. This year’s recipients were chosen based on their ability to help a company grow and achieve its goals, complexity of issues addressed with code and impact on women in tech or open source community.

“This awards program was conceptualized to focus exclusively on the DC region’s women engineers and programmers - as opposed to awards that recognize women working in non-technical roles at technology companies,” said Shana Glenzer, VP of Social Marketing at SocialRadar and co-organizer of DCFemTech. “We are excited to celebrate these accomplished women who are making significant contributions to their organizations and who are unsung heroes in our ecosystem.”

Siteworx announced Savani’s promotion to Technical Director in February. Her technical prowess and leadership have played an integral role in building credibility among and strengthening relationships with Siteworx’ largest and most important clients. She helped lead the creation of a mobile app for one of the largest non-profit membership organizations in the U.S. The app features a high level of customization that enables the organization to provide offers and discounts for people based on their geography and to facilitate partnerships and other lead generation arrangements for the association.

Allison joined Siteworx directly from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has supported the redesign of an Intranet and customer and human resources portal for one of Siteworx’ largest clients. She is also playing an instrumental role in retrofitting a legacy system and creating a Web 2.0 user experience for one of the largest non-profit organizations in the nation.

“Savani and Allison have made tremendous contributions for our clients, and this recognition is well-deserved. Their leadership and technical expertise are helping organizations build stronger connections with employees and customers,” said Tim McLaughlin, Siteworx CEO and Founder. “More than 30 percent of our employees are women. I believe awards like this one will inspire more great work and encourage more women to pursue technical careers. Selfishly, we’d of course like more of them to come to work at Siteworx.”
