Local and pro cyclists set off on the UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation (UHCCF) Century Ride. The ride kicked off in Eden Prairie at the Optum corporate campus and wound its way through Minnetonka, Mound, Hanover, Waconia and Chanhassen. The 100-mile ride raised funds for UHCCF, which provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their parents' commercial health insurance plan. Last year, UHCCF awarded about $5.4 million in medical grants to more than 2,000 children across the country (Photo: UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation).
Leading the 100-mile ride were professional cyclists from across the United States who were joined by about 75 Twin Cities-area cyclists. The bike ride kicked off in Eden Prairie at the Optum corporate campus and wound its way through the suburbs of Minnetonka, Mound, Hanover, Waconia and Chanhassen.
