Tiny Prints Partners with American Forests to Restore and Replenish the Deschutes National Forest

April 21, 2015 9:02 AM EDT

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tiny Prints, the leading online stationery boutique, today announced its partnership with American Forests, the oldest national nonprofit conservation organization. In an effort to revive the decimated Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, Tiny Prints, along with American Forests, will help restore its ecosystem and make it a destination for families to enjoy once again.

In 2012, the Deschutes National Forest was devastated by a lightning fire, destroying over 26,000 acres of trees and ruining the wildlife habitat of its big horn sheep, deer and songbirds. Through American Forests, Tiny Prints will support the Pole Creek Fire reforestation project that will plant 350,000 Ponderosa Pines and Douglas Fir, so that families can, once again, hike, camp, fish, ski and enjoy the majestic landscape.

“To us, it’s much more than just offsetting our paper usage,” said Maria Reiling, Tiny Prints general manager. “It’s important for Tiny Prints to give back and restore our natural resources, and our partnership with American Forests will make that a reality. Their work is invaluable to protecting a wildlife habitat and restoring a highly utilized recreational area, and we are grateful for their contributions to our national forests.”

The collaboration with American Forests will also involve working closely with Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC), an alternative high school program that provides opportunities for youth to learn and work in the outdoors while restoring and caring for our forests.

“We’re excited to share our vision of living in a world in which forests are thriving and healthy with Tiny Prints and their customers,” said Scott Steen, president and CEO of American Forests. “With their support, thousands of trees will be planted, acres of habitats will be restored, providing food sources and shelter for wildlife.”

Tiny Prints is also celebrating the American Forests partnership with their customers and asking them to get involved by sharing how they are celebrating Earth Day this year using the hashtag #givegrowrestore. Follow our gallery at http://bit.ly/1IAJCOq.
