Timothy Mack to Lead Cadent as Company Expands Operations
Bill Steinitz Joins Company as Vice President, Sales
CARLSTADT, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cadent, the leading provider of 3-D digital and CAD/CAM solutions for orthodontics and dentistry, today announced that the Company's Board of Directors named Timothy Mack to lead the company as President. Mack assumes his new role as Cadent enters a new phase of geographic and product expansion following its recent completion of a $15 million financing round. Terence J. Gunning, who has served since 2007, stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
Mack possesses more than 25 years of management experience in the medical imaging and dental industries. He joined Cadent in 2005 as General Manager of the dental area and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2007. He previously served as Vice President and General Manager of Ceramco, Inc., a subsidiary of Dentsply International, where he played a lead role in introducing the first CAD/CAM system for the fabrication of zirconia restorations. For 20 years prior to that, Mack held senior business development and general management positions in Europe and the U.S. for Eastman Kodak Co. where he successfully implemented growth strategies across several divisions, including the development of its initial digital imaging offerings for oncology and dentistry.
"Tim Mack possess the leadership, experience and acumen necessary to lead Cadent as the company extends the reach of our digital technology platforms to dentists and orthodontists around the world," said Amos Goren, Executive Chairman of Cadent. "Under Tim's leadership, iTero was launched in 2007 and established as the world's leading digital impression system, serving more than 1,500 dentists who have collectively submitted more than 250,000 restorations. Tim has also been instrumental in the growth of the OrthoCAD division, which has processed more than 1.7 million cases worldwide and is utilized by fifteen percent of all U.S. orthodontists."
"I am honored and excited to have been given the opportunity to lead Cadent as we continue to solidify our position as the market leader in the field of digital dentistry," said Mack. "Our product innovations are leading the revolutionary shift from traditional, materials-based dentistry to the new standard of care in the digital dental workflow for dentists, orthodontists and laboratories. We are now poised to combine the iTero digital impression technology with our OrthoCAD services through the introduction of the iOC scanner. I am also pleased to be leading the Company's expansion into the lucrative European dental market, which I personally served earlier in my career."
Mack made his first executive appointment by naming Bill Steinitz as Vice President, Sales, North America. Steinitz brings more than ten years of experience in the dental industry. He most recently served as Vice President of Sales, North America at Gendex Dental Systems, a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation. Prior to Danaher, Steinitz represented dental imaging technology for Sirona Dental Systems and managed direct and distributor sales for KaVo Dental Corporation.
"Bill's proven record in the digital imaging area and his excellent relationships with U.S. dental dealers positions us for accelerating growth now that we have made the strategic move into this traditional equipment channel," said Mack.
