Thompson Education Center Sponsors the 5th Annual Sullivan County Sportsman & Outdoor Recreation Expo

The 5th Annual Sullivan County Sportsman & Outdoor Recreation Expo Held on Saturday, March 21, 2015, the event was sponsored by the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, Sullivan County Visitors Association, SUNY Sullivan, Sullivan County Democrat, NYSERPA and Sullivan County Friends with Firearms. The event lured hundreds of visitors from near and far with exhibits of rifles, knives and hunting gear of all kinds and there were something for outdoor activity enthusiasts of all interests including hunting, fishing, archery, boating and etc.

As the "Into the Woods Exclusive Event Sponsor," Sherry Li, CEO of the Thompson Education Center Project attends Sportsman Expo to make a brief introduction to the vendors and visitors of the prospects of the project and the positive outcome it would create for education and job creation in Sullivan County, to let Sullivan County's local community have a better idea of the project and to realize that the project will promote economic growth in the region and increase the number of job opportunities. At the end of the Expo event, Thompson Education Center Project collected many signed supporting letters showing all positive feedback from local businesses and residents because they think that Thompson Education Center Project has the potential to provide better educational programs, in addition to increasing the local employment rate of the Sullivan County, to stimulate economic growth in the region, and to increase the amount of visitors to the region.

The initial development of the Thompson Education Center would work with accredited colleges to develop a new high-end and modern comprehensive university community in Sullivan County, which will include a Business School, a College of Film & Arts, a medical training center supervised by the local hospital as well as related ancillary facilities. After completion, the project will include classroom buildings, student dormitory apartments, student group housing units & recreation building , faculty houses, a college Inn, a college library, museums, an art center, a student conference center, indoor/outdoor recreational facilities including play grounds and a Stadium. The goal of the education center is to fuse Eastern and Western education systems, to diversify education development in the future, and to provide a better learning experience for students. To this end, the center will employ excellent faculties from the United States, and enroll students from both China, the U.S. and other countries.

In tough economic times, the Thompson Education Center will bring an influx of many jobs to Sullivan County. Initially and throughout the project, many contractors and real estate workers will be employed. In fact, since Thompson Education Center Job Opportunity Event held on Oct. 22, 2014, the project has already offered some job contracts to local contractors and other professional firms and more and more job contracts will be offered throughout the entire project. Once the project is complete, there will be many job openings at the Thompson Education Center. The project would not only be beneficial to local businesses and economic development but it would also increase the number of local jobs available. Thompson Education Center has already moved to the planning and construction stage, many planning jobs and some construction related jobs have been created and there will be many construction related jobs available as the project move forward. After it is built, there will be real estate related jobs to maintain daily operations, including but not limited to sales, professors, instructors, school book store and shop keepers, chefs, landscapers, cleaning, and maintenance workers.

Thus, Thompson Education Center Project is a WIN-WIN for both Chinese families and students as well as Sullivan's local businesses, vendors and residents.
