Thetford Mines Welcomes Musicians and Music Lovers
Government of Canada supports the 22nd Festival Promutuel de la releve de Thetford Mines
THETFORD MINES, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 07/03/15 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament (Megantic-L'Erable), today announced $14,500 in funding for the 22nd Festival Promutuel de la releve de Thetford Mines. The Government of Canada is providing this support under the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program. Minister Paradis made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

-- From August 20 to 22, up to 100 local singers, musicians and bands will perform on three stages in downtown Thetford Mines. -- The Festival will feature various musical styles, ranging from blues to rock to popular music. -- The event is expected to attract 75,000 visitors, who can attend completely free of charge. -- The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
