San Bernardino, CA (PRWEB) May 26, 2016

The Riverside labor law lawyers at Blumenthal, Nordrehaug and Bhowmik filed a proposed class action Complaint against Celadon Trucking Services, Inc. for allegedly failing to provide their Golden State truck drivers with the legally required thirty minute uninterrupted meal periods and legally compliant rest periods. The lawsuit also claims that the trucking company failed to correctly calculate pay for their employees. The Celadon Trucking Services lawsuit, Case No. CIVDS1606246 is currently pending in the Riverside County Superior Court for the State of California. To view a copy of the Complaint, click here.

The class action complaint filed against Celadon Trucking Services claims that the trucking company failed to pay the correct minimum wages to their truck drivers in California. Under the California Labor Code, an employee who is classified as non-exempt must be paid minimum wages at $10 per hour starting January 1, 2016.

The Complaint also alleges that the Cleadon truck driver employees working in California were not always able to take their thirty minute uninterrupted meal breaks before their fifth hour of work. California law requires employers to provide their non-exempt employees paid on an hourly basis with thirty minute meal periods before the employee works five hours. The Complaint also alleges Celadon failed to comply with California law regarding rest periods.
