The Newport 10 Miler at Fort Adams, an Outstanding Example of Event Marketing Helping in Preservation, is Now Completely Booked for 2015

The third annual Newport 10 Miler kicks off June 7, 2015. The event, now closed to new registration, starts outside the east wall of National Historic Landmark Fort Adams. This exciting competitive running event demonstrates the power of combining professional event management with non-profit organizations to create a public benefit – in this case, historic preservation.

The course features Newport's scenic coastal views around the famed Ocean Drive and passes by many Bellevue Avenue mansions. The inspiring finish is truly unique as runners enter through the Fort's north gate and complete the run inside the massive.

Matt Gray, President of Gray Matter Marketing and visionary behind the race notes, "We have a passion for creating great events and for helping community. We do this by designing events that generate income while engaging new audiences for the non-profits we assist financially. It can be a double win. "

Adds Nagele, "We have event experience here at Fort Adams. To generate income for preservation we host weddings, receptions and corporate events. However, managing road races is outside our wheelhouse. Newport's scenery is just perfect this time of year. It's getting green, and slightly warmer, so the spectators enjoy the race as much as the runners. "Come and enjoy one of the running events in North America," encourages Nagele.

Parking is available at Fort Adams. Please allow ample time on race morning to park and walk to the starting area, approximately half a mile from the designated parking areas. Please follow signs and the directions of the race volunteers on where to park.
