The New York Times Company Names Nick Rockwell Chief Technology Officer

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The New York Times Company today announced that Nick Rockwell has been named chief technology officer, effective November 16. Mr. Rockwell will be responsible for all technology operations, including infrastructure, e-commerce, enterprise computing and development of the company’s digital systems. He will report to Kinsey Wilson, the Times Company’s executive vice president, product and technology.

“Nick combines a deep understanding of technology with real insight into the challenges of the digital media business,” Mr. Wilson said. “He knows what it takes to deliver exceptional products across platforms and he has demonstrated leadership in startups and established media organizations.”

Mr. Rockwell joins the Times Company from Condé Nast, where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s technology development and operations. He joined Condé Nast in 2012 as senior vice president, digital. Previously Mr. Rockwell served as CTO at The Ladders, Digital CTO at MTV Networks, and the technical founder of SonicNet, a groundbreaking music editorial startup.

Mr. Rockwell holds a B.A. in Literary Theory from Yale University, and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
