BALTIMORE, Aug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ) has selected Beth Boots Workman as one of this year's 40 Under 40, an award given to 40 select individuals under the age of 40 who demonstrate leading roles in their industry, their company and the community. Beth was selected by the BBJ's editorial staff from more than 300 nominations and recommendations.

Beth currently serves as The Cordish Companies' Director of Operations for Spark Baltimore. Located within The Offices at Power Plant Live!, Spark is Baltimore's premier collaborative coworking space for entrepreneurs, creators and innovators. Spark, which opened in January 2016, is an inspiring work environment designed specifically with creators in mind.

As Director of Operations, Beth was involved in the planning, design and development of Spark which transformed a vacated office space into a thriving work environment.  Additionally, she has led a tremendous outreach initiative that has grown Spark's membership from 19 to over 55 companies since opening in January. Responsible for implementing a strategic vision of making Spark a leading collaborative workspace, Beth has driven the growth of the organization and the community it serves. The Cordish Companies was awarded the Downtown Baltimore Award in the Innovative Technology category this year in recognition of Beth's dedication and work with the development of Spark.

Beth joined The Cordish Companies in 2012 with over a decade of experience in the hospitality and entertainment industries. Before joining The Cordish Companies, Beth worked for the City of Baltimore and earned her Bachelors of Science in Business and her Masters of Business Administration both from The Johns Hopkins University.

"We are very proud that Beth was selected as one of this year's honorees for the BBJ's 40 under 40 Award" said Reed Cordish, Vice President of The Cordish Companies.  "Beth embodies the core values of our Company, in particular, a steadfast commitment to overseeing projects of the highest quality that also serve to enrich local communities."
