Team Rubicon New Board Members General Stanley McChrystal & Jonathan Smidt to Attend 2016 NYC Salute to Service Awards

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- International disaster response organization Team Rubicon has appointed retired four-star General Stanley McChrystal and Jonathan Smidt, partner at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), to its Board of Directors. The organization will host Gen. McChrystal and Mr. Smidt at its annual New York City Salute to Service Awards to honor those supporting the veteran community.  Hosted by MSNBC's Willie Geist, the fundraiser will be held at the Lexington Avenue Armory on April 12th.

General Stanley McChrystal is a transformational leader who served as Commander of the Joint Special Operations Command before being named top commander in Afghanistan in 2009. He attended West Point prior to joining the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, was accepted into the U.S. Naval War College and completed Special Forces Training.

Jonathan Smidt is head of the Industrials investment team and member of the Investment Committee within KKR's Private Equity platform in Europe. Prior to his current role, Mr. Smidt served as a Partner in KKR's Energy & Infrastructure team and within Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s investment banking division in New York. Mr. Smidt started his career at Ernst & Young in South Africa, where he was born.
