BURLINGAME, Calif., Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Â Carol Tanzi, ASID, a.k.a. The Goddess of Garbage, is an award-winning interior designer in the San Francisco Bay Area obsessed with recycling and designing with trash. She has been at the forefront of the recycling movement for more than two decades. And, in this economy, when people can't afford to buy new home furnishings and nice gifts, her message is coming through loud and clear, making The Goddess of Garbage the go-to expert.
She has received national recognition for using recycled materials and reuse items to create attractive and appealing home and office decor, furniture and accessories and for her dedication to teaching people, including children, how easy it is to recycle and reuse almost anything.
Carol Tanzi's Crafty Projects Have Green Style
With consumerism on the wane, and environmental consciousness on the rise, Carol's eco-friendly and thrifty ideas perfectly match the green shift in our culture. Her do-it-yourself projects are attractive and useful, while encouraging scaling back and returning to a more sensible waste not, want not outlook on life.
You can see the Goddess at work at http://www.goddessofgarbage.com. Check out the stylish stools made from discarded tire rims, tables made from trashed radiators, and desk sets crafted from old cans. Her projects are easy for anyone to do, proving that you are never too young or too old to recycle.
Dumpster Diving, Yard Sales, and a Space Only a Hoarder Could Love
Carol is energetic and enthusiastic, and a dumpster-diver who can't resist a yard sale, thrift shop or pile of curbside trash. Her storage space and office, crammed with finds for projects, would scare a neatnick, but The Goddess of Garbage is on a mission. Her goal is to educate, inform and show the world a new way to recycle and reuse. She wants to change the way people think about trash, one dumpster at a time.
"I don't create anything I wouldn't want to have in my own office or home. I get huge satisfaction from rescuing castoffs that would otherwise end up in a landfill," Carol says.
Carol is dedicated to teaching children about recycling. Her dream is that the younger generation will make green living a way of life.

DENVER, Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Â A recent study published in the Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology Journal analyzed several quality measures of data captured during the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic comparing Axion Health's ReadySet EHR to traditional paper processes.
(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20120209/LA50271LOGO)
8,411 employees from a California-based healthcare network participated in the study. Data collection occurred during the second peak of the pandemic H1N1 influenza season from November-December 2011. Read the complete article.
In this study, the authors stated "healthcare workers provided more complete information…when they used a self-administered, Web-based EHR..." "EHRs significantly reduced the frequency of vaccine-related medical discrepancies…" And, "despite initial concerns that the convenience of an EHR would lead to a high rate of declinations," it was observed that voluntary vaccination rates exceeded national and state averages.
The researchers also noted that, "if a medical contraindication was indicated on the electronic survey, the EHR flagged that answer and provided clinical decision support to the provider;" providing a function not possible using paper forms.
Axion Health's medical content team continuously integrates new and revised medical information into its clinical decision support tools. It's the only company in the field of workforce health management software that maintains a medical advisory board of nationally recognized knowledge leaders.
Additionally, Axion Health's unique core intelligence called MD IQâ„¢ integrates the industry's only workflow algorithms that analyze employee medical and exposure histories to provide clinical snapshots.
The study concluded Web-based EHR solutions can "improve the quality, accuracy, and tracking of vaccination data and can bridge the gap between public health recommendations and tangible improvements in health outcomes."
Axion Health's ReadySet is a Web-based solution that completely manages vaccination programs, resulting in increased voluntary compliance (often at 90+%), accurate real-time reporting, minimized duplicate clinical tests, and reduced data entry time.
About Axion HealthHeadquartered in Denver, Colorado, Axion Health provides software, support and consultation services for employee health, occupational health, medical surveillance, and emergency preparedness for large and small health systems and hospitals across the country, government agencies, as well as Fortune 500 companies. NORTHAMPTON, Mass., Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Â You know who is most qualified to pick what will be the best toys of 2012? Consumers - both parents and their kids. You know who is not invited to the International Toy Fair 2012 in NYC? Consumers and kids! Today, DadDoes.Com launches a plan that will allow consumers to pick the best toys from Toy Fair 2012, without ever stepping foot in the convention hall.
DadDoes.Com, a product review blog that is famous for their brutally honest reviews, will have staff scouring the Toy Fair all week long. The goal is to capture information on the best and most interesting new toys that will be coming to market in 2012. Once they have scouted out all the top toys, they will present the information on the DadDoes.Com site and allow consumers to vote for what they think will be the hottest toys for the 2012 holiday season.
Read How DadDoes.Com Lets Consumers Vote for the Best Toys of 2012
"Walking the floor of Toy Fair always feels surreal. You are surrounded by 100,000 toys, but one thing is missing - children! Experts are making their picks for what will be the hot toys of the holiday season, but where are the kids and the parents? This year, we will be the eyes and ears for Moms, Dads and children everywhere. We will gather as much information on the top toys as possible, then sit back and watch consumers pick the top toys for 2012," states Dan Nessel, founder of DadDoes.Com.
DadDoes.Com does hundreds of toy reviews each year with the goal of finding toys that kids will enjoy ... without driving their parents insane. Every toy that DadDoes.Com reviews is hands-on tested in the real world. Kids play with the toys for weeks and parents check to see how the toys hold up. In the end, the family decides if the toy is a winner or loser.Â
DadDoes.com has found that often the top toys picked by the experts do not end up being favorites with the kids. Experts often base their picks on advertising spends, movie tie-ins or other insider information. Kids are very pure in their motives; they simply want something that is fun and they know fun toys when they see them.
Nessel concludes, "We are excited to be providing complete coverage of Toy Fair 2012 in NYC. Yes, we will have some toys that are our favorites, but we are really most interested in what all the Moms, Dads and kids out there think. We will do the information gathering, but it is the consumers via our website that will do the judging. After all, it is an election year, so it makes perfect sense to let the people vote on the top toys of 2012."

MAIDENHEAD, UNITED KINGDOM -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/09/12 -- SDL (LSE: SDL), the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions, is pleased to announce that participation in its global university program has surpassed 300 academic institutions. This is the largest and most established program of its kind in the localization industry enabling graduates to more easily secure job placements in a challenging economic climate.
In 2003, a total of five exabytes of data existed. Today, users are creating the same amount of data every two days. With this huge growth in content and the increased ease of access to information, there are new demands for multilingual content across more communication channels and multiple devices. To prepare graduates for careers that help companies engage with their global customers, through effective global content management which allows for timely publication across all languages, SDL has partnered with Universities. This will help to ensure students get the desired training needed to be successful in today's dynamic business environment which requires technology to be enterprise ready and relevant content delivery in the language, the media and at the moment the consumers chooses.
As part of the partnership, students:
-- Receive training and gain expertise in SDL Trados® Studio, a market-
leading desktop translation tool which has been designed to enhance
translation speed and maximize efficiency throughout the translation
supply chain
-- Achieve technology certifications recognized by enterprise organizations
-- Hear real-life experiences and learn about trends and best practices
from guest lecturers
Following the success of the University Program, SDL is expanding its academic collaboration with new technology-driven initiatives and is also planning a series of new University courses and workshops for post-editing machine translation output, beginning in 2012. The workshops will expose students to the various skills (creativity, discipline, domain knowledge and tool proficiency) required to combine machine translation and human talent in the localization market. SDL intends this collaboration to help students recognize key elements of the ever-changing technology landscape and embrace the opportunities offered for improving their skills and fulfilling their potential.
"Exposure to real-world solutions from market-leading companies is invaluable to students," said Christophe Declercq, Module lecturer in translation with localization at Imperial College London. "SDL has been instrumental in preparing our students for careers in global communication and we look forward to expanding the relationship to provide new tools and information in our curriculum."
SDL is pleased to be investing in the future by providing students with key training, technology exposure and industry-relevant information to be successful in global business," said John Hunter, Chief Executive Officer, SDL. "We look forward to further developing this program and continuing to expand opportunities to prepare students for work in an evolving, global environment."
