SolidFire Recognized as a Top Workplace by The Denver Post

All-Flash Storage Leader Committed to Culture, Innovation and Growth in Colorado

April 11, 2016 8:00 AM EDT

BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 04/11/16 -- SolidFire, the leader in all-flash storage systems built for the next generation data center, now part of NetApp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP), today announced it has been named a Denver Post Top Workplace. The second time that the company has been honored by Colorado's preeminent newspaper, SolidFire ranks 21st out of 35 midsize employers this year.

The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. The surveys asked employees to score employers on a variety of measures, including appreciation of workers, direction, confidence in leadership, values and ethics, encouragement of ideas, competence of management, and pay and benefits.

"Being recognized by The Denver Post as a Top Workplace is a reflection of our culture and a testament to our incredibly passionate, talented and hardworking people," said Dave Wright, founder, vice president and general manager of SolidFire. "We operate in an extremely competitive market and employing and retaining the best and brightest talent that Colorado has to offer is critical to our success. As part of NetApp, employee happiness continues to be key focus and we remain dedicated to enriching an employee-driven, innovative and collaborative culture."

In 2015, SolidFire announced plans to relocate corporate headquarters to accommodate the company's rapid growth in Boulder's thriving tech community. The company's new space will account for 62,000 square feet at PearlWest, a four-story commercial office and retail building, and eventually accommodate more than 400 Colorado-based employees.

"The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest, and oftentimes people assume it's all about fancy perks and benefits," said Doug Claffey, CEO, WorkplaceDynamics. "But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day -- the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what's most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it's going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn't have a shot at being named a Top Workplace."

Recognition from The Denver Post is one in a series of recent accolades for the company. SolidFire was recently named a bronze winner for "Most Innovative Company of the Year - Medium" by 2015 Best in Biz award, one of America's Best Places to Work by Outside Magazine, winner of NetworkWorld Asia's 2015 Information Management Awards in the Most Promising Storage Innovation category and was listed as one of The Top 25 Disrupters of 2015 by Computer Reseller News. SolidFire also earned a spot on Greatist's 44 Healthiest Companies to Work For list and inclusion on Built In Colorado's The Top 100 Digital Companies in Colorado list.
