NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Sidoti & Company LLC ("Sidoti" or "the Company") is best known as Wall Street's largest, fastest-growing small cap equity research provider (500-plus names across 30 industries). Now the Company announces that it served as sub-placement agent for a transaction that closed on October 20. CSCA Capital Advisors, LLC was placement agent for the deal, which involved pricing a registered direct placement of about 1.7 million common shares of Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corporation, a specialist in net-leased industrial properties. The transaction marked Sidoti's first foray into the distribution of equity products to institutional investors.
Sidoti will continue to leverage its institutional network, working jointly with investment banks and assisting them in raising capital for their clients. Sidoti's established reputation for providing value-added products allows it to develop deeper relationships than many of its rivals. Moreover, the Company boasts the Street's largest sales team focused exclusively on selling small cap names to institutional investors. In the case of MNRTA, a relatively small and less actively traded REIT, Sidoti used its extensive relationships in the financial community to identify and generate interest among small cap investors.
In addition to small cap stocks, Sidoti aims to dominate the sub-$200 million micro cap market. After its November 2009 Small Cap Conference, the Company will host a January 2010 Micro Cap Conference. The Company expects to have up to 100 presenters at the Micro Cap Conference outlining what makes their organizations different, better and worth investing in. Most of the presenting companies are likely to be off investors' radar screens. The Company also expects a sizable audience of portfolio managers, investment advisors, pension fund advisors and analysts, retail brokers and high-net-worth individuals to attend the conference.
