LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- B. Riley & Co., LLC has announced that Dave Kang has joined as Senior Research Analyst covering the Electronics Industry.

Mr. Kang's research calls have won him recognition from independent monitoring sources and press, including a five star rating from Zacks "Profit from the Pros" in the Telecommunication & Network Equipment Industry category and a top ranking in a Wall Street Journal "Best on the Street" Analysts Survey.

Prior to joining B. Riley he was with Roth Capital Partners, ABN Amro and The Seidler Companies as an Optical Networking Equipment Analyst. In addition, he was with Rockwell International as a Systems Engineer.

Mr. Kang received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from California Institute of Technology and his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California. He earned an MBA from California State University, Fullerton.

In an August 27, 2009 Dow Jones article headlined "Tales of the Tape--Analysts Zigged When They Should Have Zagged", Dow published results of a survey which showed that B. Riley took the #1 spot for 1-year performance (83.1%), #1 spot for 6-month performance (109.9%) and #1 spot for 3-month performance (36.0%). Those figures outperformed the bulge bracket firms.

In addition, Integrity Research Associates ranked B. Riley Research #1 based on returns for the first half of 2009, placing B. Riley in the number one spot for "Returns in Basis Points per Day" and "Returns per Correct Call". Earlier, Integrity ranked the firm #1 for the accuracy of its calls for all of 2008.

In addition to Mr. Kang, B. Riley announced that Sarkis Sherbetchyan has joined as a Junior Analyst. Mr. Sherbetchyan comes to the firm from Protiviti, a Menlo Park-based consulting and internal audit firm. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
