Seattle Public Schools Selects AudioEye to Provide Web and Technology Accessibility Services

January 24, 2017 6:00 AM EST

TUCSON, Ariz., Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AudioEye, Inc. (OTCQB: AEYE) ("AudioEye" or the "Company") today announced that the governing School Board for the Seattle School District No 1 voted unanimously selecting AudioEye as its vendor for ensuring that the web content of all Seattle Public Schools (SPS) websites and pages are both accessible and compliant.

"Seattle Public Schools is thrilled to begin work with AudioEye, Inc. Our collaborative work will ensure that the district's web presence is fully accessible to students, parents, faculty staff and the community at large," stated Michael Miller, Accessibility Coordinator for Seattle Public Schools.

"With approximately 98 school locations, 8,000 staff, and 54,000 students within the city of Seattle, SPS is prioritizing digital inclusion as they seek to ensure an accessible user experience for all their constituents, regardless of individual ability," stated Sean Bradley, President & CTO of AudioEye.  "Seattle Public Schools required an effective, expedient, and economical approach to solving a complex problem and, after an extensive and disciplined vendor evaluation process, they found their solution in the AudioEye Digital Accessibility Platform, Ally Managed Service Solution, and our dedicated Accessibility Professionals."

In 2015, Seattle Public Schools entered into a landmark settlement agreement with a blind parent of an SPS student and the National Federation of the Blind.  Under the agreement, SPS committed to making its current websites accessible.  Over the next several months, AudioEye will work closely with SPS to improve access and usability for the many diverse users who rely on the services provided from the district website, the more than one hundred unique school websites, and various additional vendor-supported resources.

"The National Federation of the Blind's goal in entering into the SPS agreement was for SPS to 'become a model for the nation' as it pertains to ensuring 'equal access to information, use of school services, and full participation in school activities.'  Our technology was built in this same pursuit, and we look forward to making this goal a reality for SPS and, subsequently, for other districts seeking these levels of digital inclusion and service," stated Bradley.
