IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Samsung Electronics America Information Technology Division today announced its partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization. Through Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope and the Home Run for Kids program, funds will be raised for Joe Torre's Safe at Home Foundation to educate and generate awareness of domestic violence and to further support victims of domestic violence.

The program kicked off at this season's first Dodgers home baseball game and will continue throughout the 2008 season. Each home run hit at home by Dodgers players will raise $1,000 for the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation.

"This is an important opportunity for Samsung to educate communities on domestic violence to stop the cycle and save lives," said JH Kim, president of Samsung Electronics America, Information Technology Division. "We are excited to partner with Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope and bring the Home Run for Kids program to the West Coast."

With both the national awareness of the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization and Samsung Electronics America, the donations generated by the Home Run for Kids program will not only help to further expand domestic violence awareness, but protect and educate families who fall victim to such abuse.

"The Los Angeles Dodgers have always put a special emphasis on community involvement whether through our charitable organizations, player participation, or the dedicated work of the Dodgers Dream Foundation," said Dodgers COO Dennis Mannion. "We are thrilled to be able to lend a hand to Joe Torre's Safe at Home Foundation, along with our partner, Samsung and their Four Seasons of Hope program."

"We deeply appreciate this partnership with Samsung Electronics America, as we strive to eliminate domestic violence," said Joe Torre, manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and founder of the Safe at Home Foundation. "Our partnership with Samsung has given us the opportunity to raise awareness of the Safe at Home Foundation as well as continue the tradition of educating children about domestic violence so that they understand that they are not alone and that there is hope."

Established by Dodgers Manager Joe Torre in 2002, the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation is dedicated to developing educational programs to help end the cycle of domestic violence and save lives. Torre, a survivor of childhood domestic violence, knows the challenges individuals face as a result of being exposed to such abuse. It was a result of his personal experience and his commitment to helping others that propelled him to establish the foundation.

The Home Run for Kids program is one part of Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope, a cause marketing and good will program. Now in its seventh year, the program combines the forces of major national retailers with sports, music and civic personalities, to execute unique retail programs that raise money and awareness to improve the quality of life for children and their families.
