RPAI Appoints Paula Maggio To Serve As Executive Vice President, General Counsel And Secretary

OAK BROOK, Ill., April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Retail Properties of America, Inc. (NYSE: RPAI or the "Company") announced today that Paula C. Maggio has been appointed to serve as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective May 2, 2016.

Ms. Maggio will succeed Dennis K. Holland, who had previously announced that he would be retiring on June 30, 2016. In connection with Ms. Maggio's appointment, Mr. Holland will cease to serve as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary as of May 2, 2016; however he will remain employed by the Company through his originally planned retirement date to assist in the transition.

Before joining the Company, Ms. Maggio was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Inc. where she served in various functions since 2000. Previously, Ms. Maggio practiced law with Altheimer & Gray, where she focused primarily on real estate and hospitality law. Ms. Maggio received a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor, cum laude, both from the University of Illinois.
