Named after the UAE's Founding Father late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed Future Energy Prize was launched in January this year at the inaugural World Future Energy Summit by HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to encourage innovations in the field of clean energy and sustainable development. The prize is a Masdar initiative, which is Abu Dhabi's landmark program to develop sustainable solutions to meet the world's future energy demand.
The winner and finalists of the first Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP) will be announced at the World Future Energy Summit on January, 19th 2009. The winner will receive US$1.5 million and two finalists will receive US$350,000 each to take their ideas and ambitions forward.
The jury, who will be responsible for selecting the winners, was also announced today and includes some of the world's leading experts in future energy and climate change. The full jury includes: Dr. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Chairman of the Jury for ZFE; HE Olafur Grimsson, President of Iceland; HE Khaled Irani, Environment Minister of Jordan; HE Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar); Lord John Browne, Managing Director, Riverstone Holdings; Lord Norman Foster, Founder and Chairman, Foster + Partners and Jeremy Rifkin, President of the Foundation on Economic Trends.
"Climate change is one of the most significant challenges we face today. Over the past two decades we have seen some incredible advancements in the development of alternate sources of energy, but there is still a long road ahead. The Zayed Future Energy Prize will be an important symbol for creating future energy choices, as it will be honoring the contributions of energy pioneers and inspiring others to seek and create innovative solutions for a sustainable future," said Dr. R.K. Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Chairman of the Jury for ZFEP.
"In establishing the Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP), Abu Dhabi honors and continues HH Sheikh Zayed's environmental legacy and advocacy for sustainable development. This vision is for a new energy future, whereby the world has access to energy that is sustainable, accessible, and affordable. This can be achieved by driving the best minds to explore science and technology, and develop evolutionary solutions," added Sultan Al Jaber, CEO of Masdar and Director General of ZFEP.
A dual language, Arabic and English website was designed specifically for the prize and is now live. The website, www.zayedfutureenergyprize.com, will be a focal point for information and updates on The Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP) and will be a portal for entering nominations and submissions.
Nominations and Submissions for the Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP) will be open until July 31, 2008 and September 30, 2008, respectively.
The Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP) is the preeminent award in field of clean energy supported by the Government of Abu Dhabi and announced at the World Future Energy Summit in 2008. PETAH TIKVA, Israel, July 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Microsoft Corporation and Internet Gold (Nasdaq: IGLD) (through its 100% owned subsidiary Smile Media Ltd) have reached an agreement to have Microsoft independently operate a MSN Israel portal. Established during 2000, MSN Israel Ltd is 50.1% owned by the Internet Gold Group and 49.9% owned by Microsoft Corporation.
The parties are currently discussing the terms of migration and possible future cooperation. The msn.co.il portal will continue to operate throughout the transition period and both parties are working together to support employees, advertisers and users through this period.
MSN is a global portal network which operates in 44 countries. In almost all of these countries the MSN portal is fully owned by Microsoft Corp. and only in a very few instances has Microsoft joined forces with a domestic partner to establish a local MSN portal. In 2007, MSN Israel accounted for less than 3% of Internet Gold's total revenues.
Eli Holtzman, CEO of Internet Gold, said today "We have been happy to partner with Microsoft in establishing MSN Israel over the last eight years. Since then, we have developed MSN Israel into a leading portal in Israel. Given the change in the parties' online strategies we have agreed it makes sense for Microsoft to operate msn.co.il independently. We believe this is the right move for both parties and anticipate it will have a positive impact on our results."
"During the last few years, the Internet Gold Group has significantly expanded its activities in a variety of communications areas and, as a result, our MSN Israel operations currently represent a minor portion of the group's total revenues. Thus, we have decided recently to change course and seek alternatives for growth. We are continuing to actively examine new and financially significant areas of activity in and out of Israel, which have substantial growth potential and will drive our group to its next phase of business," concluded Mr. Holtzman.
Danny Yamin General Manager of Microsoft, Israel, said today, "Our relationship with Internet Gold has worked well to establish strong foundations for our online business but both parties now feel that the time has come to operate independently to allow us both to deepen our impact on the Israeli market.
"We are very excited about our future in Israel and see some fantastic opportunities for growth and development of both the MSN portal and the Windows Live services. It is MSN's goal worldwide to deliver the best of local and international content -- integrated with our Windows Live services -- providing ways for consumers to interact and engage with MSN and more importantly, with each other. We call this 'the social portal.' Content is a very important part of this strategy and we will continue to partner with local and global premium content providers to deliver this."

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
For several members of the Coca-Cola Racing Family, a victory in the inaugural Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola was so close they could taste it. Although the drivers were unsuccessful in their bid to take the checkered flag, millions of fans in the U.S. still have an opportunity to get a "Taste of Victory" of their own.
Through the Coke Zero "Taste of Victory" program, if one of the 13 drivers sponsored by Coca-Cola won the Coke Zero 400, fans would be able to enjoy the Real Coke Taste and Zero Calories of Coke Zero for free. Even without a victory, Kyle Petty - a founding member of the Coca-Cola Racing Family and analyst in the TNT broadcast booth for the race - announced that in celebration of the inaugural Coke Zero 400 at iconic Daytona International Speedway, fans would still be able to receive free Coke Zero.
Any U.S. resident 13 years of age or older can simply visit www.CokeZero.com through July 13 and follow the instructions to receive a coupon for a free 20-ounce bottle of Coke Zero (1). In addition to quenching their thirst, fans can help support a charity close to the hearts of Coca-Cola Racing Family drivers. Coke Zero will donate $1 to the Victory Junction Gang Camp on behalf of the first 10,000 people who visit CokeZero.com to request a free coupon.
Founded by Petty and his wife Pattie in honor of their late son Adam, the Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, in a safe and medically sound environment.
"It's pretty sweet to share the real Coke taste and Zero calories of Coke Zero with fans around the country," said Kyle Petty. "I hope to see millions of people visit CokeZero.com to claim their free 20-ounce bottle and join me in celebrating an exciting Coke Zero 400."
Coca-Cola Racing Family drivers participating in the "Taste of Victory" program included Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, Denny Hamlin, Mark Martin, Greg Biffle, Elliott Sadler, Jamie McMurray, Bobby Labonte, Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer and David Ragan. Terry Labonte also was eligible as the driver of the #45 Petty Enterprises Dodge.
"We were really rooting for one of our drivers to get to Victory Lane and deliver a taste of victory to people across the U.S.," said Bill Kelly, senior vice president, Coca-Cola Brands, Coca-Cola North America. "In the end, it was a great race and that's reason enough to follow through with our offer to give away free Coke Zero and to continue our support of Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang Camp."
The "Taste of Victory" program is one of many ways Coke Zero has taken a prominent role in NASCAR(R) this year. Title sponsorship of the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola serves as the centerpiece for the brand's expanded presence in the sport. In addition, marketing efforts have included the launch of Coke Zero's first-ever NASCAR(R)-themed advertising campaign, driver appearances, high-visibility track signage, at-track sampling and much more - all promoting the brand's core message - Coke Zero has "Real Coke Taste and Zero Calories."
With a current share of 1.5%, Coke Zero is the only sparkling beverage brand of 350 launched since 2001 to surpass and maintain a 1% market share. By using irreverent, humorous communication and delivering Real Coke Taste and Zero Calories, Coke Zero has established a strong connection with young adult males and achieved the highest trial of any recently launched Coca-Cola North America brand.
The debut of the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola is part of a 10-year sponsorship agreement between Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) and International Speedway Corporation (ISC). Through a variety of track partnerships, brands from CCNA will be refreshing fans at 13 race tracks in 2008 before expanding to 17 race tracks by 2012. Coca-Cola is the official sparkling beverage of NASCAR(R) and has been involved with stock car racing for more than 40 years. A signature part of Coca-Cola's innovative NASCAR(R) program is the Coca-Cola Racing Family - a collection of veteran drivers and rising stars.
(1) Coupons for free 20-ounce bottles of Coke Zero will be redeemable until September 1, 2008 at participating retailers across the country where Coca-Cola products are sold. Limit is one coupon per person. All U.S. residents 13 years of age or older are eligible.
