NANJING & XI’AN, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Parker Aerospace, a business unit of Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE: PH), the global leader in motion and control technologies, has announced that its two joint ventures with the Aviation Industry of China (AVIC) have received AS9100C certification. Additionally, the joint venture in Xi’an, China, has received maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) approval by both the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

“Parker is proud to have earned these three important certifications for our Chinese joint ventures,” said Parker Aerospace Vice President / Regional General Manager of Asia Pacific Pui Ho. “We are committed to providing products and services that meet and surpass the highest standards of the global aerospace community, providing the C919 and ARJ21 with superior equipment and support.”

Parker FACRI Actuation Systems is a joint venture between Parker Aerospace and AVIC’s Flight Automated Control Research Institute to provide manufacturing and production support of Parker Aerospace flight control actuation products on the C919 single-aisle transport and ARJ21 turbofan regional jet, both developed and produced by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC). The joint venture is located in Xi’an and includes the FAA and CAAC 145-approved MRO customer service center supporting domestic Chinese airline customers for Parker Aerospace, AVIC and third-party products.

The FAA and CAAC 145 approvals require that the facilities meet exacting standards for technician training, materials, quality standards and machinery and equipment. With these certifications, the Parker FACRI JV is now ready to provide OEM-quality MRO services to the Chinese airlines.

NEIAS Parker Aero Systems & Equipment is a joint venture between Parker Aerospace and AVIC’s Nanjing Engineering Institute of Aircraft Systems to provide manufacturing and production support of Parker components for Parker’s fuel, inerting and hydraulic systems on the C919 and ARJ21. Located in Nanjing, the joint venture supports both manufacturing and assembly and test functions and features a state-of-the-art machining center and special processing line.

The two joint venture facilities have also achieved AS9100C certification for their aerospace production and maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes. This international standard championed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) specifies requirements for quality management systems that meet regulatory requirements.
