April 28, 2016 12:00 AM EDT

TOKYO, JAPAN -- (Marketwired) -- 04/28/16 -- On Saturday, April 16, a magnitude-7.3 earthquake jolted the city of Kumamoto, Japan, just hours after a magnitude-6.2 earthquake devastated the same area. In response, Oracle is offering free use of Oracle Social Cloud for companies and organizations using social media toward recovery and rebuilding efforts in areas affected by the Kumamoto Earthquakes.

Through Oracle Social Cloud, organizations can monitor social media posts related to the earthquakes; select and analyze those posts by volume, time, gender, and location; as well as view posts in full detail. In doing so, users can translate massive amounts of data into helpful information for people in Kumamoto, and provide relief workers with real-time updates to ensure effective and prioritized activities.

Oracle Japan will match contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 toward relief efforts in Kumamoto for employees in Japan. To make a significant impact and speed aid to those in need, all donations will be given to Peace Winds Japan, a non-governmental organization working in the disaster zone.

For companies and organizations interested in receiving free 90-day access to Oracle Social Cloud to help support rebuilding efforts in Kumamoto, please contact: Oracle Direct TEL: 0120-155-096 or http://www.oracle.com/jp/direct/index.html.
