Nutrisystem Success Story Morgan Root Loses 128 Pounds and is Featured in PEOPLE’s “Half Their Size” Issue

Army Veteran Credits Nutrisystem for Giving Her the Structure She Needed to Lose Weight

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nutrisystem, Inc. The mom-of-two, who also appeared on Good Morning America this morning to talk about her weight loss success, is ringing in the New Year feeling happy and healthy after dropping 128 pounds.

Root was fit and active while serving in the military for six years, but her structured lifestyle changed once her husband was deployed during her first pregnancy. She gained 80 pounds and was pregnant with her second child soon after. Like many women, Root struggled after back-to-back pregnancies and reached a peak weight of more than 250 pounds.

“I just didn't have the energy to keep up with my kids. I was missing out on those moments that you should have with a newborn and a toddler," said Root. “Nutrisystem fit in with my busy schedule as a mom and gave me the structure I needed to lose the weight.
