GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- National Storage Affiliates Trust ("NSA" or the "Company") (NYSE: NSA) today announced that the underwriters of the previously announced initial public offering of 20,000,000 of NSA’s common shares of beneficial interest, $0.01 par value per share ("common shares"), have exercised in full their option to purchase up to an additional 3,000,000 common shares from NSA at the initial public offering price, less underwriting discounts. In accordance with NSA's intended use of proceeds as described in the final prospectus, NSA used the net proceeds from the initial sale of 20,000,000 common shares to acquire 21 self storage properties, bringing NSA’s total portfolio to 246 properties, and to repay approximately $194 million of indebtedness. NSA intends to use the net proceeds from the exercise of the underwriters’ option to repay approximately $36 million of borrowings under its revolving line of credit, resulting in the repayment of an aggregate of approximately $230 million of indebtedness with net proceeds from the offering. The sale of the additional 3,000,000 common shares is expected to close on May 18, 2015, subject to customary closing conditions.
