LOS ANGELES, July 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Moose Toys, the fastest-growing toy company in the U.S. and creators of the Shopkins collectible craze, makes its first-ever appearance at Comic-Con International in San Diego with the debut of Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake, the rarest doll to join the popular Shoppies line. The San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Shoppie doll is limited to 2,000 units worldwide, each individually numbered, and will be sold exclusively at Comic-Con from July 20-24, 2016.

"An extension of our popular Shopkins line, Shoppies are a must-have among doll collectors," said Paul Solomon, Co-CEO of Moose Toys. "With an extremely limited quantity, Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake will be the rarest Shoppie in the line, and we're thrilled to introduce her to the most avid collectible fans at Comic-Con."

Comic-Con attendees can find Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake at convention booth #700 in San Diego. In anticipation of huge demands from fans and collectors outside of Comic-Con, Moose Toys is also giving fans the opportunity to win Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake through an online contest in which fans will need to tap into their creativity for a chance to win their very own Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake.

Since its launch in 2014, Shopkins has skyrocketed from a collectible toy brand to a must-have lifestyle for hordes of super fans that include both kids and adult collectors. Shopkins fans have perfected the art of the hunt for Limited Edition and rare characters, and the Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake will be no exception. With a limited quantity available for purchase at Comic-Con, attendees of the biggest super fan convention in the U.S. will have the first opportunity to add this exclusive Shoppie doll to their collection.

About Golden Cupcake Jessicake

Shopkins' first-ever San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive, Jessicake Limited Edition Golden Cupcake is a special edition version of the original Shoppies Jessicake first released in January 2015. Limited to only 2,000 pieces worldwide, this collectible doll is individually numbered and comes in a cupcake-shaped package uniquely designed for her. In this Comic-Con version, Jessicake wears a deluxe glittered cupcake headpiece atop her floor-length gold tinsel hair with a braided crown. Her glittery two-tiered pleated skirt is inspired by a decorative cupcake cup, and her golden purse and shoes are both cupcake-themed to match.  Jessicake's BFF Shopkins, Coco Cupcake and Cherry Cake, are also included as their exclusive golden versions. The accompanying exclusive VIP card unlocks extra content in the Shopkins Shopville app.

With more than 600 million Shopkins characters sold in the U.S. to date, the tiny toys have taken the collectible world by storm. Both kid and adult Shopkins collectors know every minute detail of each tiny character and have formed Facebook fan groups to share news and trade characters among other super fans. Passionate fans also regularly search eBay for Limited Edition characters to add to their collections. Moose Toys even made national headlines with the charity auction of its one-of-a-kind Gemma Stone Shopkin, which sold for over $21,500 on eBay, with all proceeds benefitting the Toy Industry Foundation.
