MarketCounsel Hires Veteran RIA Industry Executives Loren Morris and Bob Powell

• Morris serves as director of strategic development, joins from Cantor Fitzgerald; previously at Dynasty Financial Partners and Charles Schwab & Co.

• Powell serves as director of special projects, following nineteen-year career at Fidelity Institutional.

MarketCounsel, the leading business and regulatory compliance-consulting firm to the country's preeminent entrepreneurial investment advisors, announced a series of new appointments today, including two senior RIA industry veterans, Loren Morris and Bob Powell. As Director of Strategic Development, Morris bolsters the firm's  efforts in aligning its services with current or prospective advisors as well as industry partners. Powell, as director of special projects, will assume control over MarketCounsel's many prominent wire house advisors to independence as well as other multi-disciplinary consulting projects.

Morris joins MarketCounsel from, most recently, Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was partner and director of operations and advisor services and member of Cantor Fitzgerald's new wealth management subsidiary (CFWP). Morris played a key role in evaluating prospective advisory teams (including financial and operational due diligence), assessing opportunities for future growth and selling the Cantor wealth management platform offering.

Morris has a solid background in the industry, having held executive positions with industry leaders such as Dynasty Financial Services, Charles Schwab Advisor Services and Saratoga Capital LLC.

Additionally, Morris earned an MBA from Dartmouth College, Tuck School of Business and a BA in political science from Yale University and holds NASD, Series 7, 24, and 63 Licenses.

Powell joins MarketCounsel after almost twenty years at Fidelity Investments, most recently as senior director of strategy planning and PMO for Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services. Powell's program managed multiple regulatory compliance initiatives required by Dodd Frank regulatory reform. Powell also managed the development of Fidelity's hybrid strategy, bringing together different groups within Fidelity Investments to create a unified program for the independent broker-dealer market.
