LAGUNA HILLS, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/27/16 -- In early 2016, Lion's Heart, a nationwide non-profit that mobilizes teens to volunteer and serve in their community, was chosen by a Connecticut-based accelerator, Social Enterprise Trust also referred to as reSET. Lion's Heart was selected from over one hundred entries, as one of eighteen cohort participants to compete in reSET's Impact Accelerator Program. Each social enterprise attended five summits over five months at the reSET headquarters in Connecticut. The summits strengthened each cohort's business model, team, and strategies by providing expert panel discussions, peer review sessions, start-up tools, and resources including mentorship. In June, Lion's Heart presented their pitch to mentors, "entre-peers", and reSET staff for judging. Lion's Heart was awarded a grant and recognized as Most Impactful at the June 15th Impact Awards, held in Hartford, Connecticut.

"As a judge and mentor at reSET, Lion's Heart impressed me immediately, not only with their incredible social mission but the strength and depth of their commitment to achieve and implement their mission across numerous communities nationwide," said Matthew A. Connell, EdD., MBA, co-founder of Yellowbrick.me as well as one of the reSET judges. "Their passion is palpable and their work remarkable. They so deserve to be a reSET winner."

Based in Southern California, Lion's Heart has 90 chapters in 16 states and is growing rapidly in the New England area, providing volunteer opportunities to teens and mobilizing its Members to volunteer with non-profit organizations in their communities. Lion's Heart will go on to compete in reSET's second round Impact Challenge as a semi-finalist in which there is a $100,000 prize pool.

"Through our experience with reSET, we have gained valuable advice and business tools to enhance our platform. We are humbled to be awarded Most Impactful, especially because the other cohorts are also impressive social enterprises. We will be forever grateful for the experience and for the wonderful people we met through the program," said Terry Corwin, Lion's Heart Founder and Executive Director.
